Research has found that school leadership accounts for a quarter of the school’s impact on student learning. Further, in India, school leaders provide huge leverage to improve quality of education as there are 5L school leadersmcompared to 90L teachers. However, professional development opportunities for school leaders in the country remain weak. ISLI was founded to bridge this gap through providing high-quality in-service training programs for school leaders. ISLI runs a two-year in-service fellowship for school leaders from low-income schools and also supports state governments in designing and deliver high-quality school leader training.
