Dec 22, 2025
Mahesh Kumar Mandloi, a government school teacher with over two decades of experience, has been shaping young learners’ journeys at Ek Parishar Ek Shala (EPES), Nichma, in Shajapur district, Madhya Pradesh.
After beginning his career as a teacher at a private school in 2001, Mahesh transitioned to the government education system in 2007, driven by a desire to reach more children and contribute meaningfully to their foundational years. Since 2018, he has been teaching at his current school, where his approach has helped create a welcoming and engaging learning environment for early-grade students.

Mahesh strongly believes that the early years of schooling are critical for a child’s overall development. He places great emphasis on building trust and comfort, especially for children who are stepping into school for the first time. By spending time talkiMahesh Kumar Mandloi: Nurturing Dreams through Joyful Learningng to them, engaging in playful activities and listening to their concerns, he works to ease their transition into the classroom.
One of the highlights of the school where Mahesh teaches is the vibrant learning environment he has helped create. Classroom walls are covered with colourful paintings that are not merely decorative but thoughtfully aligned with the curriculum. These visual elements serve as teaching aids, helping children grasp concepts more easily while stimulating their curiosity and imagination.

With the introduction of Mission Ankur, MP’s programme for Foundational Learning and Numeracy (FLN), Mahesh found his classroom practices further strengthened. The programme supported him in adopting activity-based teaching methods that encourage participation and deeper understanding among students. Reflecting on this shift,
Mahesh says, “When children are given activity-based learning, their pace of development increases and their interest in learning grows.”
Beyond academics, hefocuses on creating a safe and supportive classroom where children feel confident expressing themselves. This environment supports not only cognitive development but also emotional and social growth, laying a strong foundation for lifelong learning.
Mahesh’s journey reflects the impact that committed teachers can have when they combine structured academic support with empathy and creativity. Through his work, he continues to inspire children to dream ambitiously and take confident steps toward their future.
