Five Years of NIPUN:
Building India’s Learning Foundation Together
Launched by the Ministry of Education in 2021, the NIPUN Bharat Mission has put foundational literacy and numeracy (FLN) at the heart of India’s education agenda, aligned with the vision of NEP 2020.
With a clear goal of ensuring FLN skills for all Grade 3 learners by 2026–27, the Mission has moved from policy to classroom practice in these five years.
Key Enablers of NIPUN

The next phase of NIPUN Bharat is about deepening this foundation so every child not only learns to read and do basic math, but is ready to thrive and contribute towards a Viksit Bharat.
