Report Background
August 17th, 2026
This report from CSF’s EdTech Lab examines the Indian EdTech landscape and explores what makes EdTech products effective for students and schools, particularly in low-resource contexts. It draws on rapid evaluations of 12 high-potential products, covering 44 schools across 10 states, interviews with 685 stakeholders, surveys of 981 students, classroom observations and analysis of data from 17,000 students and 3,900 schools.
The report presents findings across product design, content, delivery, student engagement, learning and implementation. It highlights that product type or feature set alone is not a reliable indicator of effectiveness, making structured evaluation critical for informed product selection and implementation.
