To honour this spirit, Central Square Foundation’s #ClassroomHeroes: Pehle Shikshit, Phir Viksit campaign celebrates the invaluable contribution of teachers to learning. Anchored around Teachers’ Day (5 September) and International Literacy Day (8 September), the campaign highlights their role in shaping young minds, advancing literacy and building a brighter, more equitable future, in the spirit of this year’s International Literacy Day 2026 theme, “Literacy for people, the planet and prosperity.”

Through stories of resilience and inspiration from classrooms across the country, the campaign celebrates teachers who innovate, adapt and go the extra mile to ensure every child learns.
